Integration of PhD Holders and Predoctoral Researchers into the ITPS
INTEGRATION OF PhD HOLDERS
Beneficiaries and Requirements
PhD teaching and research staff at Rey Juan Carlos University whose research lines align with the scientific and technological objectives of the institute may apply for affiliation through this call.
Applicants must have an active contract with URJC for their incorporation and continued membership in the institute.
- They must not be affiliated with another research institute at URJC or externally.
The applicant's incorporation into the ITPS will be based on their alignment with the institute's research lines and on criteria related to their research activity and success in securing research funding.
Application Documentation
- Application form according to the Annex I template.
- Applicant's CV.
- In the case of PhD teaching and research staff with a temporary affiliation, a favorable report from the Department Council must be attached, following the template (Annex II).
- In the case of PhD research staff supporting research and hired under programs, contracts, or projects pursuant to Articles 23 bis and 32 bis of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Law 14/2011, a favorable report from the principal investigator of the project or contract must be attached.
Copy of postdoctoral stay certificates from foreign research centers.
- Endorsement from a PhD with permanent affiliation to URJC and member of the Institute Council, confirming the suitability of the applicant's scientific profile with the ITPS's scientific and technological lines.
Project certificate issued by the relevant institution if the projects are external to URJC, or the certificate of participation in research activities issued by URJC.
Applications
Submission of the application and all requested documentation through the following FORM.
PhD Researchers Endorsed by National, Regional, or International Excellence Programs
PhD researchers who are recipients of research excellence grants (César Nombela from the Community of Madrid; Ramón y Cajal from the Spanish State Research Agency; and ERC from the European Commission) will not be evaluated according to the criteria in Article 6 of the call. Their proposed incorporation into the ITPS will be submitted directly to the Institute Council.
In these cases, they must submit the following documentation through the Application Form provided for this purpose on the ITPS website.
Application form according to the Annex I model.
- Applicant's CV.
Resolution of the awarded research excellence grant.
- Endorsement from a PhD with permanent affiliation to URJC and member of the Institute Council, confirming the suitability of the applicant's scientific profile with the ITPS's scientific and technological lines.
However, once the grant period has ended, these researchers will be evaluated according to the criteria in Article 6 of this call to determine their continued affiliation with the institute.
INTEGRATION OF PREDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS
Beneficiaries and Requirements
Non-PhD teaching and research staff at Rey Juan Carlos University whose research lines align with the scientific and technological objectives of the institute may be eligible to join the Institute if they are:
Non-PhD teaching and research staff and research trainees, with at least one of their supervisors belonging to the ITPS.
Non-PhD research staff supporting research and hired under programs, contracts, or projects pursuant to Articles 23 bis and 32 bis of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Law 14/2011, with a favorable report from the principal investigator of the contract or project, who must be affiliated with the ITPS.
- Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Not be affiliated with another research institute at URJC or externally.
Be enrolled in one of the doctoral programs offered by URJC in areas related to the scientific and technological objectives of the institute.

- Applicant's CV.
Certificate issued by the International Doctoral School confirming enrollment in a URJC doctoral program. The certificate must include the program name, starting academic year, and supervisors.
Endorsement of the applicant's affiliation with the ITPS by their supervisor, who must be a PhD and a member of the Institute Council, indicating the suitability of the applicant's scientific profile with the ITPS's scientific and technological lines. In the case of jointly supervised theses, it will be sufficient for one of the supervisors to be a member of the ITPS.
