RAÚL SANZ MARTÍN

Raúl Sanz Martín is an ITPS member since its creation. Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at Rey Juan Carlos University since February 2018. B.Sc. on Chemistry, Major on Chemical Engineering, from Complutense University of Madrid. Ph.D. received from Complutense University of Madrid (2002), awarded with the Extraordinary Mention, working on the synthesis of zeolitic and mesoporous materials for catalytic and environmental applications.

I have participated in more than 40 research projects funded by both public and private institutions, with a significant number of collaborations established with the industrial sector. As result of this research activity, I am co-author of more than 120 publications in scientific journals (JCR index, h = 40), coinventor of 6 patents and I have supervised 9 Ph.D. theses. One of them received the mention of "EFCE Excellence Award in Fluid Separations 2014", by European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), and two others were awarded by Spanish CO2 Technology Platform (2014 and 2016).

Nowadays, my main research lines are focused on: Synthesis of mesostructured materials for drug delivery; Pd based membrane for H2 production; Thermochemical cycles for H2 and synthesis gas production; CO2 capture by solid sorbents; Synthesis of zeolitic and mesostructured materials for catalytic and environmental applications.

I am currently co-leading a Spanish national project (Ref. PID2024-160428OB-I00. Nanopartículas porosas que contienen anticuerpo-metalofármacos conjugados como nanomedicinas multiterapeúticas integrales para el tratamiento de cáncer colorectal) and a EU-funded Project (Ref. 101192918. HYPPER - Hybrid protonic reactor for flexible energy conversion, storage and transmission by reversible organic). Moreover, I am also participating, as researcher, in the project Ref. TEC-2024/ECO-116, Energía solar de concentración para los objetivos net-zero en procesos industriales y transporte, funded by Comunidad de Madrid.
