Jovita Moreno Vozmediano

Dr Jovita Moreno is an ITPS member since january 27, 2025. She is a chemical engineer who graduated from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in 2000. She received her PhD from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in 2005 for her work on developing new supported catalysts for ethylene polymerisation. She is currently an associate professor of chemical engineering in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Technology at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.

Dr Moreno undertook postdoctoral research at the University of Strathclyde in 2006 under the supervision of Professor David C. Sherrington, working on the preparation of novel organic–inorganic hybrid materials for catalytic applications. In 2017, she conducted research at the University Claude Bernard of Lyon, studying the incorporation of comonomers in gas-phase ethylene polymerisation using supported catalysts to obtain new polymeric materials. Her current research interests focus on developing new chemical processes for valorising different types of waste and studying the sustainability of these new technologies using life cycle analysis.

She has over 50 scientific publications and has led national and international research projects funded by public administrations (TWINCLER, ref. TED2021-132210B-100; CAT4BIOMON, ref. PID2021-122736OB-C44; BIORING, ref. 101112379), and private companies of the industrial sector.

Since February 2022, she is the Head of the Fuenlabrada City Council – Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Chair in Circular Economy for Sustainable Waste Management. The Chair develops I+D+i activities, as well as training and dissemination initiatives, seeking synergies between academia, industry and public administration entities to promote the ecological transition towards a more circular production system.
