IMENE YAHYAOUI

I am a professor in the Electronic Technology area at URJC. I am a Dr in process and systems engineering from the University of Valladolid (Spain), focusing on energy management and the sizing of off-grid photovoltaic plants for photovoltaic pumping. I am currently the principal investigator (PI) for the 2023 knowledge generation project funded by AEI (Spain state) and also the PI for the "Digital, Stable, and Flexible Electrical Grids" project, funded through the call for proposals for R&D programs in CAM technologies by the 2024 call for proposals. In addition, I have served as principal investigator (PI) on four other research projects funded by the URJC.

In international projects, I have served as the principal investigator (PI) for a research project funded by the Espírito Santo State Research Support Foundation (FAPES), Brazil, from September 2015 to March 2017. In addition, I am currently part of the research team for three research projects at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Brazil), funded by FAPES. I am the director of the Electrical Networks and Renewable Energy Systems Laboratory (REESER Lab), which is part of the URJC's Labu Network. I also represent URJC on the Futured platform and the RIPCEL network—the Ibero-American Network for the Promotion of Local Energy Communities for a Just and Sustainable Transition which is part of CYTED. My research focuses primarily on the energy management of off-grid photovoltaic plants, the application of deep learning techniques for predicting PV generation, and the application of optimization algorithms in distribution networks involving the installation of battery banks, short-circuit current limiters, and photovoltaic plants for the reduction of losses and harmonic distortion, sizing of renewable energy plants, fault detection in photovoltaic plants and control of inverters in power grids. I have authored more than 29 articles in JCR-indexed journals, edited 2 books, published one book as the sole author, and contributed 8 book chapters with Elsevier, as well as more than 40 papers at national and international conferences. I am responsible for the collaboration agreement with the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Brazil).

I am a project manager at the AEI. In addition, I have served as an evaluator for European programs.
