Alicia Salazar López

Alicia Salazar is an ITPS member since its creation. Dra. Salazar is Full Professor of Solid Mechanics at Rey Juan Carlos University since 2019. She earned her PhD in 2004 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where her doctoral thesis focused on the mechanical, fracture, and fatigue characterization of high-critical-temperature superconductors, specializing in non-conventional mechanical characterization of materials. She has maintained this expertise and currently oversees the mechanical testing machines in the Durability and Mechanical Integrity of Structural Materials (DIMME) research group. Within DIMME, she leads the "Fracture and Fatigue of Polymers" research line and has supervised four doctoral theses throughout her career.

Prof. Salazar serves as Secretary of the Spanish Structural Integrity Society and is a member of the ESIS TC4 Technical Committee, dedicated to the Fracture of Polymers, Composites, and Adhesives. These roles have allowed her to strengthen international collaborations with leading research groups, supported by research stays at Imperial College London (UK), Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), and Politecnico di Milano (Italy).

With over 60 publications in the field of fracture and fatigue of materials, Prof. Salazar has also participated in more than 50 research projects funded by European, national, and private entities.
