Alicia M. Montero Csanady
Alicia Montero Csanady is an ITPS member since february 27, 2025. She is a pre-doctoral researcher at Rey Juan Carlos University. She is a PhD candidate carrying out her thesis within the research line of Valorization and Characterization of Residual Materials within the framework of the Circular Economy of the Industrial Technologies PhD program. In her thesis, the research is focused on the valorization of lignin through catalytic hydropyrolysis to obtain high value-added compounds. Among the possible products, special attention will be paid to phenolic compounds, which are of interest because they can be used as chemical raw materials, in addition to their potential use as additives for fuels and lubricants, colorants, flavorings, or bactericides and fungicides.
She graduated in Chemistry from the University of Valladolid in 2023 and then, she completed a master's degree in Sustainable Chemistry from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2024.
During the degree, Alicia did an internship in Lactiber León, where she gained experience in analytical chemistry. Then, during the master's, she did another internship in AIMPLAS (Valencia), where she discovered her passion for research and science.
